Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Md. Atiqul Islam has commented that the country’s on-going political violence has made the image of ‘Made in Bangladesh’ questionable.
The BGMEA president made the comment at a human chain staged in front of its office at Karwanbazar in the capital on Wednesday.
BGMEA, Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) and Bangladesh Textiles Manufacturers Association (BTMA) jointly organized the program. Leaders of BGMEA, BKMEA and BTMA and over 50 trade unions attended the human chain.
Dudu remanded for two days
BNP chairperson’s Advisor Shamsuzzaman Dudu has been placed on a two-day remand in an arson and vitalization case.
Azaduzzaman Nur of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court granted the remand on Wednesday morning.
