Sajeeb Wazed Joy, adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Information Communication Technology (ICT) and also her son said that ten lakhs Information Technology (IT) experts will be developed in next five years in the country.
Joy came up with the disclosure while addressing a conference at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) on the occasion of ‘Digital World-2015’ in city on Tuesday.
He said that around 65 percent people of total population are now under 25 years old and this people have serious interest in information technology.
Joy also said that the rate of poverty was 40 percent in 2008 which became 26 percent in 2014. Besides, the literacy rate was 49 percent and the government made it 65 percent.
The mobile phone subscriber has increased to 120 million from 20 million, he added.
