Alleging `the feast of violating electoral code is being observed by the ruling party candidates, BNP has demanded withdrawal of several returning officers as they could not be able to take steps against them.

BNP spokesperson Asaduzzaman Ripon demanded this at a press briefing at the party`s central office in the capital`s Nayapaltan on Friday afternoon.

Ripon alleged, "We have learnt that the ruling party nominated candidates, lawmakers and the leaders and activists are violating electoral conducts in the country`s different municipalities along with Dhamrai of Dhaka, Gouripur of Mymensingh, Doulatkhan of Vola, Keshobpur of Jessore, Betagi of Barguna."

He said returning officers of the municipalities concerned are playing silent roles despite taking any steps against the ruling party men. So we demand the withdrawal of them. Now we should wait to see what measures are taken by the Election commission (EC).

People of the country are feared whether the polls will be fair and free if EC do not take steps against the men who are violating electoral codes.
