‘Miscreants will be made calm within a week’

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque on Sunday noon

remarked that the miscreants who are involved with subversive activities will be

 made calm within a week.

The minister came up with the remark while speaking at a programme marking 43th `Homecoming Day` of Bangubandhu Sheikh Muzibur Rahman at the VIP lounge of the National press Club in the city.

The war affairs minister said stern action will be taken to those who are killing innocent people in the country after hurling petrol bombs and setting fire to vehicles in the name of blockade.

He said, “We came to know through intelligent agency’s information that the miscreants have the plan to kill the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and they want to do it to stop the trials of war criminals.”

Parliament to host inaugural Saraswati Puja

Bangladesh National Parliament will host Saraswati Puja this year at its premises first time ever on the history of the country.

Sources said the ruling Awami League led government has given the permission of celebrating Saraswati Puja at its premises in a bid to prove its stance of a non-communal nation.

Saraswati Puja, one of the biggest celebrations of Hindu community, will be held across the country on January 25. Hindu devotees will pay their respect to Saraswati, the deity of knowledge and the arts.

Pankaj Debnath, ruling party lawmaker of Barisal-4 constituency, is the organizer of the Saraswati Puja at the Parliament premises. He told risingbd.com that the preparation for holding a memorable celebration of Saraswati Puja is going on in full swing. The organizing committee is busy to make the celebration colorful and mouthy.

The entry of the Saraswati Puja at the Parliament premises will be open for all. Pankaj Debnath urged all Hindu devotees to join the celebration spontaneously.
